The seeds of Bixa Orellana L. contain carotenoids, tocotrienols (main subgroup of vitamin E), saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, flavonoids and vitamin C.

It has a great antioxidant and emollient power, preventing skin aging. It is used as a natural tanning and hair re-structuring agent. It is easily integrated in creams, sunscreens, lipsticks, etc.

Formerly used as a sunscreen and natural dye.
