The oil obtained from Persea Gratissima is rich in Omega 9, 6, palmitic acid, vitamin D, E and B complex. Monounsaturated fatty acids aid in digestion, protect the heart by reducing LDL cholesterol and reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, it also helps control blood sugar levels. Originally from Mexico and called by the Spanish colonists "pear of the Indies". Its cultivation is currently found mostly in South Africa.
